I'm thinking of enhancing my website with pictures. Is there a good site that offers professional pictures, such as men and women in suits, etc? Are these downloads normally cheap?
Hi,
This is my first post here, I followed a link from namepros and thought I'd see what the community was like over here...
I run
http://www.greatstockphoto.com, we have over 40,000 different photos there and you can get unlimited downloads for 12.99 a month. We have alot of photographers posting new photos every day and there are alot of really nice pictures.
If that's not what you're looking for, other good stock photo sites are bigstockphoto.com, istockphoto.com and fotolia.com, prices for photos from those sites typically runs from $1.50 - $5.00 a photo.
Hope this helps!
George
You can probably score some bundles on eBay...
Thanks for the suggestions folks. I think professional pictures do help with drawing people to the site.
Even though marketers seem to have been shouting for ages that graphics don't matter, I've always maintained that professional graphics (that enhance your message or sales copy and don't distract from it, of course) make a site a great deal more appealing to everyone.
Unfortunately, it’s been my experience that it is not easy to find fantastic graphics that don't cost a small fortune. But it's also true that being forced to use graphics minimally and only when absolutely necessary, and focusing mainly on writing copy, and now statistically proven copy, has helped me stumble upon something like a magic formula for sales page creation.
Anyway, I've been using istockphoto for over a year now with no complaints, except that they don't always have the exact image I'm looking for. But, I’m no stranger to Photoshop so when I can't find what I want, I'm able to make it (most of the time

).
Even so, I'd really like to find some better places to just buy graphics since it can take so long to make them or get the right shot. Does anyone have a good list of reasonably priced graphics sites that charge by the download instead of a monthly or yearly fee?
