A lot of web sites are going with the trend and are adding a blog to their site. They use to write anything and everything on it from announcements to general news to technical discussions. The question is that wether this blog will attract visitors to the site??
Well my answer would be that if the blog is unique (containing unique articles and interesting information) then it would definetly attract traffic and would be of some interest to users and a lot might subscribe to it and keep track on information posted.
So if you want to start a new blog, be sure you put something unique and something interesting to people.
I think it's an added value. In my opinion, blogs help connect the visitor to the site administrator(s) better and also keeps the user up to date with any news and happenings at the site.
Yea i think it is def. an added value. If you have good blogs than people will come back to read them which will make your site more profitable.
I agree with Joshua, Blogs can add the personal touch, and Interesting content will have visitors returning, again and again, which opens oppurtunity for advertising.
I think a blog is a good idea if you have a lot of new information to share. A lot of updates, that are interesting to your visitors.
Most of the time I don't have very interesting information. I don't think I'm that interesting that visitors want to read a kind of diary about it.
But that can also be my personal taste. I never read blogs. And if I do see a blog that I like reading I wish they had the information on a website
Anything that can help build a community of people around your website is a major plus.
I have read that even politicians are starting to add blogs to their websites.
I understand that blogs can be an added value but does it apply to a website when you are providing a service? I'm thinking of putting a blog on my site but I'm not sure how "professional" that would be? Any ideas?
yes definitely creating blogs can bring you traffic because blog site itself will get picked up by the search engine.
some people create multiple blogs about their website to reroute traffic to their main site.
best thing you can do is hire someone to create multiple blogs for you.
I wonder if blogs can really bring you traffic. I always feed the blogs I read and don't go to the actual blogs sites so often. So, I prefer forum to blog.
Yeah, blog is good for announcement and updates, but not for discussion. Forum can do the above quite well, especially good for discussion.
I too believe blogs are an added value for any Web site. Since I've had my blog my Web site stats have increased and so has my fan mail.
If you keep your blog updated by posting at least every other day (which I've slacked off on because of work, but plan to get back to), and you add contest announcements and interesting information, it can be a great value for you and your Web site.
