As you all should have guessed the top domain is .com and it is the first by far with 53.3 million .com domains!! Second comes .de (yeah you guessed it wrong, .de is used more that .net) with 9.83 million and third comes .net with 7.42 million domains.

.net's aren't all that common, I don't see them as often as .org's.
But I never would have thought that .de is more common!

.de, well, in the first place I don't even know what that extension stands for. But whatever the case is, I don't think .coms will ever be beaten in the market. I have seen in domain forums that they can go as high as half a million, depending on the type and rareness of the domain.
.de stands for Deutschland (=Germany)
