Here is a small list of some web design mistakes done:

1. Fonts: Small fonts or bad font color! Make sure you choose your font color wisely!
2. Content not written for the web: web content should be short, scannable, and to the point.
3. Browser Incompatibility: Make sure that your site is compatible with major browsers, these are: IE, FireFox, and Opera. Others include safari.
4. No contact information or company information: People like to know who are you and how to contact you, make sure you are able to provide it! If don't want to put your email address as it is, you can put a small 'contact us' form.

I Hope this is useful to you
It was indeed very useful.
Thank you so much.
these are very nice tips! one should avoid them at any cost! they are very important in every site especially the font and browser compatibility
Also, you definitly want a good navigation system.

I wrote an article like this not too long ago, let me find it.
Quote:

1: Navigation, make terrible navigation, that never stands still, and most importantly is never the same.

2: Music, noise, etc. its OK as long as its possible to turn off or disable.

3: Animated pictures, the normal person does not like getting dizzy.

4: POP-UPS -users HATE popups, everyone does.

5: Make it a banner farm. No one likes them.

6: Have a dark background with a dark font, or any other matching colors.

7: Text, text, text, and more text. Don't but <br />'s and <p> 's to let users catch their breath.

These are definitly things you do not want to do to your website. Unless the whole point of your website is to make people mad.

Oh the two in the first post, I'd the the most abused is definately cross-browser support.

Webmasters need to know that there in fact IS more than one browser out there!

But don't you think most "normal people" just use IE, only webmasters and geeks uses Firefox
true temi, but also "normal people" are beginning to use Firefox more and more! The average person will use Firefox late but we never know, let's see IE7 and then for there see how things will move
