A survey of online buyers by Shopzilla.com reveals that 40% of consumers have increased their online buying as a result of high gas prices. 15% saying they are shopping online a lot more to avoid burning gasoline going to stores and 25% saying somewhat more.

Yes in serbia there are online 2-3 stories ( online ).
But still too small market.

I would say that the online purchasing will continue to increase over time and that people will trust the web more and more
that will be good news for us all! later people will get to try clothes online and see how they look like on them

As far as short term effect is concerned, high gas price isn't a good thing. Americans probably drive about the same distance, even if gas price goes up, which means that they have less money to spend on other things. Not good ... (in the short term)
